I’ve always thought Iphone cameras were great but I didn’t really understand how much I would rely on one (especially as a family photographer), until my son was born. I expected that once he was here, I would pull out my “real camera” for everything…but I quickly learned that just isn’t realistic!
It all started on day one - I went into the hospital certain that I would capture so many cute, newborn, hospital photos that I even brought a few different lenses! I think I finally pulled my camera out just 20 minutes before we were being discharged. Luckily my wife was able to take lots of memorable Iphone photos and videos while I was recovering and let’s just say, since then, I’ve learned that things don’t always go quite to plan. Having an Iphone within easy reach has really been a game-changer for capturing the quick little moments. When you combine the great little camera with real photography skills and tips from a Family Photographer, you’re on your way to photos that you love!
You don’t need a fancy “real” camera to take amazing photos!
I understand that might be a strange thing for a Family photographer to say, but it’s true! Iphones have come a long way and are perfect for every day moments! If you’re going to be charging for photos, you will definitely want to understand how to use a DSLR camera, but for most parents, Iphones are more than adequate.
I always assume that people will need photographers - even as technology gets better - because we all know how hard it is to to get the whole family into a good photo! So, well I do think “real” cameras and photo sessions are worth their cost, having an Iphone to take all of your real-life photos is perfect!
Once you learn a few tips to taking better photos, you’ll have a better understanding of some of the things that look for as I’m taking photos during a session. It’s all transferable to Iphones and will leave you with some really great photos of your little one!

This online course rolls out on October 15th. After that, enrollments will be rolling as it’s a self-paced program.

You can read through this course in one day! Ideally, you’ll choose a lesson to work on for a few days at a time, but it’s all self-paced so you decide! You will have lifetime access to the course and Facebook group.
